| We at the Badlandz are firm believers in slowing the rate of fire. We feel it is one of the largest contributing factors in the decline of the paintball industry. Last year, we were one of the very first fields anywhere to cap the R.O.F. to a somewhat reasonable 15 balls per second. Now that we feel some progress is being made, we're going to drop it down some more...
Maximum for team practice R.O.F.: 13.333 balls per second.
Any violation of this R.O.F. and you will lose your wristband for half a day.
2nd violation, you are out for two weeks.
3rd violation, you are out for one month.
4th violation, you'll need a new place to play for the rest of the year.
Maximum for recreational, walk-on and private groups R.O.F.: 11 balls per second.
It does NOT matter what type of gun, board, or trigger you possess. If you are shooting faster than 11 balls per second you will be pulled out of the game:
1st time; sit out 2 games.
2nd time: sit out the rest of the day.
3rd time: out for 2 weeks.
4th time: you will need to find another field to play at for the rest of 2008.
You may or may not like or agree with these rules, but we ask that you try it and see how much more fun the game is. Yes, we said the "f-word"...FUN! No more being lit up in the woods by someone all the way across the field. You should notice players actually aiming and picking their shots. Also, you will probably not shoot as much, so you'll be able to save a few bucks on paint (nice with the recent increase in paint production costs and pricing). Another interesting change will be movement. Without as much suppressive fire you will be free to make bigger and more aggressive moves; it's how it used to be and it was more fun that way. Our customers will want to come back, thus insuring the future of this great sport we all love so much.
How will we know? Badlandz has pact timers, and we will be getting more. Violators will stand out even without the timers, and our referees best judgment will be acceptable for us. Turn 'em down, its best for everyone.
