When you play at The Badlandz, you’re playing at one of the world’s preeminent facilities, with more land and a larger player base than most other fields. We can use our large scale to deliver a great yet affordable paintball experience. From a family outing to a major international competition, no group is too large or too small; The Badlandz will deliver the fun you’re expecting.
 |
Badlandz was originally developed to be a host facility for large scale tournaments: as a home for, multiple time, world champions, Team Aftershock. With that in mind, it was easy to accomplish our original mission. . . draw other top teams to compete against. Almost immediately we created a competitive vacuum in the Midwest. Most if not all the best players and best teams gravitated to The Badlandz. To this date, including professional and amateur tournaments, Badlandz is home to 23 world championships and more victories than we could ever begin to count. |
Although our competitive roots run deep, we began to attract hundreds then thousands of walk on and private group players all looking for a great day, outside with their family and friends, playing paintball.
The Badlandz is one of the few fields anywhere that specializes in private groups, walk on players, as well as tournament players. Many fields are good at one, maybe two styles of participation. But not us, we had to be great at all of it.

PAINT RULES
Bring your own paint does not mean bring any paint. We reserve the right to disallow any paint we deem inappropriate for any reason at any time with no prior warning.
Due to substantial, ongoing problems keeping our rental fleet operating. As well as insuring our customers a good day of using they’re own personal equipment. We have taken the steps to ban the following paints from the Badlandz, if your not sure about these rules please call us first.
CURRENTLY BANNED PAINT
1. Wild Streak (Any Color)
2. White Box / White Fill (Any Brand)
3. Monster Ball
4. Red fill (any brand)
5. Stealth
Do not shoot these paints at The Badlandz, you will be asked to leave! Thank you for your cooperation. |
|
You may bring your own paint to play for the day, provided; |
 |
1. Its not red fill.
2. The shell is not so thick as to jeopardize the safety of other participants.
3. The fill is not so thick or separated that it may damage or stain the facility, bunkers, or other participants.
4. You may only bring enough paint with you to play that day or in the event of a Big Game 2 days. |
5. If you are found to be selling paint on our property you will be asked to leave with your paint forever. Even if you try to say "the people that just handed you money are your best friends and this was a pre-arranged transaction". All we know for sure is that you handed them paint and they handed you money. That means you’re outta here!
6. It is not currently banned paint.
A little more on the B.Y.O.P. Rules:
Many paintball companies are in survival mode; it’s no secret that the entire industry is struggling. Most paintball businesses as you knew them only a year ago will not exist by this time next year. We like what we do and would prefer to keep doing it, so we’ve got to make the adjustments that will allow for that to happen.
Last year we all watched Fox River Games successfully add x-ball to their already good field. We also saw C.L.P stop allowing B.Y.O.P. unless you purchased it from one of their recognized dealers. CPX is continuing to increase the quality of their scenario games; all good business decisions for their respective companies.
While we were the first field around to allow you to bring your own paint and would like to keep it that way, there have got to be some controls in place.
Last year at the field we caught teams that receive discounted paint from their store sponsors selling it to other teams that do not get the same steep discount. We found team players reselling their paint to our walk-ons. There is a local distributor that is reselling paint to walk-in customers under the guise of “sponsorship”, the paint then gets to Badlandz and Fox and is sold in our parking lots by these “mini traveling dealers”.
Some stores will sell, to their walk-in customers, just slightly above cost in an attempt to keep volume up. One guy will buy 10 or 20 cases, then mark it up a bit and sell that in our lot to other walk-ons. Last year, in an almost unbelievable circumstance, we busted another local field owner’s son in our parking lot walking around with a case of XO trying to push it like some half-baked crack dealer.
So while we LET you bring your own paint it doesn’t mean that we want to, or are willing to, concede our own paint sales so somebody that does not derive their living from this sport can just offset their playing expense.
If we don’t make money we cannot continue to provide you the services, the amenities even the facility that we do. By addressing this situation now, we are ensuring Badlandz continued success.
You think this costs a lot now, you should have seen what it cost before we opened. Even if you don’t like the Badlandz, be careful what you wish for...
POLICIES
SALES:
Bottomline, Don't do it! We have worked long and hard spending hundred's of thousands of dollars to make The Badlandz the facility that it is. At no point did we do this so people can setup a temporary shop to make a quick buck while hurting our sales or other legitimate dealers. If we catch you we will bounce you forever.
ADVERTISING:
You may not advertise or solicit for other businesses at our field. Do not pass out flyers and do not put stickers everywhere, do not hang banners. If you own a business or just really, really like somebody that does and don't like us..... Just stay home or go to their world class facility. Don't disrespect ours.
WALK-ON & TOURNAMENT PLAYERS:
In an ongoing effort to make the game more affordable to our regular (more experienced) customers The Badlandz allows you to bring your own paint. We may at our sole discretion and without prior warning, disallow certain brands or types of paintballs. Reasons may include but are not limited to; inappropriate color (red), excessively thick shells, heavily staining fills, If we feel a manufacturer is "dumping" paint in our area to adversely effect other brands sales. Also keep in mind that we let you bring your own paint, this does not mean you can sell paint. (Please see advertising and sales)
